Gold dust in my eyes.

I have had such a fabulous week, I’ve been super busy, but it’s been great fun.

Today was probably the best day though, I went on a date with my friend Kingsley...we’ve known each other for years, we met at a debate competition...but because we’ve always been at separate schools we hadn’t had the chance to meet up properly...and then with everyone having to tra la la off to university last September, him to Essex to study law, and me to Canterbury to study politics we drifted apart and lost touch...thankfully, the world of facebook exists...!!
So we went to Tiny Tim’s Tearoom at lunchtime...my favourite place in the whole entire world...we also went into Swarovski to see how much a new vase is going to be as my attempt at gluing it back together wasn’t particularly successful...they only had one vase in the store though and it was £1500...luckily it wasn’t the same one that I had broken, so I’m hoping the one I’ll need to eventually replace is significantly cheaper...on the plus side, the parents still don’t realise that it’s broken...so at least time is still on my side.
We then went shopping...lots and lots of shopping, finding clothes for each other to try on...I made him try on a ladies skirt in FatFace, but forgot to take a picture...silly me!
Then we drove back to my town, and went down to the beach to catch the last of the sun...I found out that he enjoys rollerblading too...weird, apart from Ginnie and Ria, nobody else I know owns rollerblades, so to find someone who actually enjoys it is pretty much a miracle...and he’s a sailor too, which is always a good thing according to my family.
It’s really rare to find someone that understands you completely, and that you can just be yourself around and enjoy those ‘comfortable silences’ with...but I think that’s exactly what I’ve found in Kingsley...I’m just so mad at myself for not keeping in touch with him...it feels like I’ve just wasted the last few years by not getting to know him properly, zut zut.
But we’ve decided that we’re going to go over to France together once I’m back from Greece, and just have a really nice time spending time together over the summer...everything’s looking rather positive.

I went to France with my father on Monday...one of the many benefits of living in the South of England and being in a busy shipping town is that you can get to France in just over an hour on a boat...so we went over there to do some shopping; I needed magazines and clothes, and he needed wine...despite zee father driving on this road at least twice a month and knowing the area incredibly well – he forgot to take the right turning, and we ended up heading towards Paris...he blamed it on the fact that I was talking too much...pft...we eventually managed to get back on track, but not before letting me drive the Jaguar for a while...we were at a toll booth and the place where you insert the Euro was too high up for me to reach from my window, so he got out of the car and put the money in...but the barrier lifted really quickly -and I have an irrational fear of not getting through them in time- so I jumped in the driver’s seat and drove through, leaving zee father behind...it was quite funny, and slightly dangerous as his door was still open, but some French men starting applauding me...a classic example of my impulsive nature...my dad said he was pleased he didn’t have such a boring daughter, and let me continue driving for a bit longer...driving on the right hand side of the road is so much easier than the left...I don’t know why Britain has to be so stubborn and ‘alternative’...clearly daddy-daughter bonding was a success, and an adventure.

I had my aerobics class on Tuesday, which was fun...as per usual, though hard...there were only a small number of people there again this week so we had a more intense workout...which was good as the next day I met Amber at La Salle Verte and indulged in a smoothie – which was incredibly yummy.

I’ve started watching Britain’s Next Top Model and am pleasantly surprised...I always try to watch at least the first few episodes of each season but it always seems incredibly rubbish compared to ANTM, and I have the biggest issue imaginable with Lisa Snowdon presenting the show...when I think of great British supermodels her name does not spring to mind, she wouldn’t have even been on my top 100 list...I couldn’t dislike her more if I tried...Lisa Butcher would have been slightly more acceptable, I understand that they wouldn’t be able to get someone like Naomi Campbell or Kate Moss...but how about Jacquetta Wheeler or Stella Tennant? They are/or were incredibly successful models...Lisa Snowdon is just ‘blah’...I want to throw something at the TV screen each time I see her criticising the girls because I can’t help thinking that she’s a complete hypocrite who has never, or will never ever be that great-a-model...she’s just so commercial...I digress, the point I was making was that they had some seriously strong contestants this season...I want Catherine to win, although my favourite was Martha.
I think I’ll continue to rant whilst I’m still feeling worked-up over Lisa Snowdon...my other big issue at the moment is that I hate when people question my order in Costa Coffee, this has happened twice now...by the same silly woman... you can question it once, and I will explain my choice, but don’t question it twice...you’re paid to make my drink, not comment on it...why is it so hard to understand someone wanting skimmed milk in their hot chocolate? I really don’t know why she has such an issue with that...each time she tells me how rubbish skimmed milk is, apparently ‘full fat makes it taste so much nicer’...and each time I have to bite my tongue in case I accidently say how I really feel; ‘I choose skimmed milk because I don’t want to end up overweight like you’, ugh, I’m such a horrible person...mon dieu.

I’ve just realised that I still have Kingsley’s jumper in my bag...oh dear indeed, I’ll look after it...I think I’m going to go create my ‘summer playlist’ this evening, I’ve already written a list of the songs I want on it but I need to put them into the perfect order...there’s nothing better than listening to a summer playlist whilst sunbathing on a yacht in Greece...less than a week until I fly out, and I cannot wait.
