"Well, I am rather fantastic."

So last week was probably the most hectic week of my life – it was pretty much the only week left to work on the Kent TV project. Thankfully, I was excused from my politics lectures...and so we finished the filming on the Monday. And then Wednesday and Thursday, I went to the TV studios with another member from my group to work with Tom Chown (who’s been nominated for journalist of the year, fingers crossed) in an editing suite so finish everything off and add effects and voice over etc...it was so much fun, but incredibly stressful. Video journalism is definitely not a field I’d want to work in – I think I’ll stick to regular journalism. And so our main short movie should be going live within the next week...and on the 27th we have the official screening in a politics show format, which will also be recorded and put online.
I’m so thankful for having the opportunity to work on this project for the past four months; it really has been hard work - but so rewarding. How cliché. And I can’t wait to work with Ivanka on more projects with our amazing compatibility and similar vision.

I spent the weekend in London as my cousin has just moved into her new house in Marylebone... she lives on such a beautiful little street – and there’s a Swedish church opposite her house, so Sunday morning the road was busy with beautiful blondes. Hello heaven. I really do love the Marylebone area, it’s so central...and surrounded by cutesy cafés and parks. Oh, and the shops are to die for. I arrived on Friday and met up with Phoebe for a drink and gossip; I hadn’t seen her for about a month and was beginning to have withdrawal symptoms – she’s the only other person that shares my passion for Chanel lipstick. Then I met up with my lovely friend, Ana...it was a walk and talk date as I was heading to the new house...so we met at Great Portland Street tube and strolled along Euston Road to Baker Street. It was quite a funny sight – we were carrying two Longchamp bags each, completely ironic and unplanned. We have good taste.
Saturday was a day of shopping – a little bit of Oxford Circus, though it was a bit too manic for my liking, and Topshop was so disappointing. And then on to Bond Street for some shopping and a game of ‘spot the botox’, happy days. We stopped off at Ping Pong for some dim sum at midday – I also had the most amazing flowering jasmine green tea there, yummy. And then in the evening met up with my cousin’s friends at the Norfolk Arms. It was a really fun evening – most of them work in high finance in the city, so it was a major venting session for everyone to share stories about the incompetent people currently working for them who actually have no clue how to do their job. I hope none of these ladies become my boss one day, they’re fierce. I was also approached by a drunk (and possibly drugged out) man towards the end of our first bottle of wine...he stumbled over and started introducing himself and was rambling on about the fact that he wasn’t a weirdo but had to come over and tell me that I have ‘the most fucking amazing hair’...ugh, thanks. I’ll accept the compliment; I just wish it had been from someone less creepy. I guess it’s true what my father says – we were both cursed with a magnet that attracts freaks.
We went for a walk in Hyde Park on Sunday morning, it was so nice and quiet – people were out for their morning runs, and I saw quite a few people with their personal trainers doing pilates. It’s a good life. We also paid Selfridges a visit to browse the new collections...and then headed off to Notting Hill for the Portobello Road market. Notting Hill is such a pretty place to be – candy coloured Victorian houses. We stopped off at Ottolenghi for tea and cake too...I felt sufficiently obese after feasting on the most amazing blueberry cupcake – thankfully I walked 5 miles that day, so fingers crossed it won’t leave a painful reminder on my thighs and ass. In all honesty though – if you are ever in London, you must pay a visit to an Ottolenghi – take lots of monies with you, and just enjoy yourself...it’s the most peaceful, and beautiful experience.

It’s only one week until I see Kingsley, and the mass birthday celebrations begin! I honestly have missed him so much, it’s been torture not being around him for the past month...not being able to casually turn up to his house, not being able to go out for a drink in the afternoon, not being able to sit in the garden as the sun shines down on us. He’s the person that I want to spend the rest of my life with, and so I wish he was around all the time to share any little special moments I might have. Those moments where you end up smiling to yourself because nobody else would understand – Kingsley would understand all of those moments without needing to ask any questions. We’re too perfect for each other to be kept apart like this. Unfair unfair unfair.

And now I’m reading up on Immanuel Kant’s political philosophy...it’s absolutely riveting, lies.
